Advances in cloud computing and the growing sophistication of online viewing platforms are now playing a major role in the next chapter of post production, seemingly spurred on by covid-19 . We at KORD.Media have long embraced these advances, spearheading exciting new audio workflows, which offer scalable, flexible and cost-effective solutions for both production and post production companies alike. More importantly though, our aim is to maximize the time that can be dedicated to creativity and attention to detail.

Located within Department – Bonded Warehouse, in Manchester City Centre, the studio comprises of a 7.1.4 dubbing theatre, voice over booth and edit suite, with 4k UHD viewing capability.

The Atmos capable dubbing theatre is based around an Avid S3 control surface and Genelec 7.1.4 monitoring. It provides the perfect environment for creativity and efficient working. Pro Tools Ultimate software is complemented by plugins from manufacturers such as Waves, Nugen, Audioease, iZotope, Source Elements, and Native Instruments, which enables the very best in audio processing and creative sound design.

The CB Technology, TMC-1 is used to handle the 7.1.4 monitoring. Nugen’s Post bundle is available for any up or down mixing, and mastering tasks.

Other tools include an AKAI APC40 MKII with Ableton Live, and Native Instruments Komplete, plus a host of other plugins. We even exploit the virtues of Traktor Scratch Pro to create some truly unique sounds with a Technics 1210 Mk3D turntable. Not common practice but still, loads of fun!

Above the dubbing theatre is space suitable for recording, podcast filming, chilling out, whatever really. All areas of the studio are covered by a dedicated Dante audio network to ensure maximum flexibility. The voice over booth is built to a high specification and the edit suite is comfortable and suitable for dry-hire.
